Dorris Carter

Dorris Carter, age 83 of White House passed away January 6, 2016 after a brief illness. Ms. Carter was born on April 23, 1932 in Franklin, KY to the late Henry and Zula Carter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Billy Carter and son-in-law, Jimmy Swanger. She is survived by her children, Jim DeGlopper of Reno, NV, Anna Hoffman of White House and Susan Swanger of Dickson; grandchildren Dino (Brooke) DeGlopper of Gallatin, Jennifer (Stephen) Hickey of Hendersonville, Wysteria (Marcus) Moss of Dickson, Wynde (Michael) Huffine of Charlotte, Jessica (Juan) Gonzalez of Tulsa, OK, Matthew DeGlopper of Kileen, TX and Kerry Hoffman of White House; great-grandchildren, Hannah Duncan of Dickson, James and Laken Hayes of Charlotte, Jacob and Jackson Huffine of Charlotte, Lilly and Abby DeGlopper, Bryce and Madison Hickey and Finley Joe Gonzalez; siblings, Barbara (Jack) Crafton of White House and Jimmie (Rose) Carter of White House; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. In accordance with her wishes, Ms. Carter was cremated and no services are planned at this time. "Someday I'll wish upon a star and wake up where the clouds are far behind me.
