Dorothy (Dottie) Gregory Lassiter, age 69, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 6, 2019. She left this Earth in peace and comfort under the loving and compassionate care of the Vanderbilt Hospital Palliative Care Staff. Her sons, Chris and Brian Lassiter, were there with her until her last breath, loving and comforting her just as she did for them her entire life. Dottie was born in Detroit, Michigan and soon after was adopted by loving parents Garland and Betty Gregory of Nashville, TN. She spent her entire life in Nashville and the northern suburbs. She loved her Lord and loved her church. She was a founding member of Long Hollow Baptist Church. She loved to ball room dance and created many great relationships in the process. She was an accomplished Master Barber and business owner, cutting hair for over 30 years. Her customers and clients were like her family. She truly admired every one of them. Her real passion was her family. She loved her children dearly, and had an extra-special love for her grandchildren. She loved being "Nana." She was so selfless and giving. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Henry Lassiter and her father, Garland Gregory. She is survived by her mother, Betty Gregory, her sons (Chris Lassiter and wife (Lynnette) and Brian Lassiter and wife (Jaime), her grandchildren (Clayton, Maddie, Clara and Celia Lassiter) and many, many brothers, sisters, extended family and too many friends to count. Two visitation times: Sunday, June 9, 2019 from 4PM-6PM and Monday, June 10 from Noon-1PM at Long Hollow Baptist Church in Hendersonville, TN. The funeral service will follow the visitation Monday, June 10 and begin at 1PM. Dottie Lassiter will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Goodlettsville, TN upon completion of the service.
