Dorothy June Day "Grandot", 90, of Goodlettsville passed away Friday, May 22, 2020, Born February 4, 1930 in Nashville, TN she was the daughter of the late Ray Vaughn Watson and Margaret M. (Blair) Watson. Dot was raised in the West End area of the city. She and her late husband, William Perry "Popa" Day lived in the home they built in Goodlettsville and had been married for 66 years at the time of Mr. Perry's passing. She had been a member of Parkway Baptist Church. Dot was known as a consummate homemaker, always taking pride in her home as well as caring for her family. She also was particular about her own appearance and took pride in always putting her best self forward. She loved to cook and was also very "crafty" and artistic. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children, Teresa Vetetoe, and Perry (Teena) Day, Jr.; grandchildren, Michelle Vadner, Tracy Vetetoe, Amanda Vetetoe, Toney Lamberth, Brandon Day, Brittany Pentecost; eleven great-grandchildren; and sister, Shirley Johnson. Visitation will be held at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville, Thursday from 11 AM to 1 PM. A celebration of life service will be held at the funeral home Thursday at 1 PM followed by interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
