Dorothy Burchett

Burchett, Dorothy L. "Dot", age 82, born on August 2, 1924 in Nashville, TN to the late Clark and Lizzie Armstrong. Also preceded in death by her brother, William Armstrong, and her sister, Bobbie Wilhite. She is survived by husband, C.R. "Ike" Burchett, and daughter, Theresa Burchett Carol Lohmann, of Tucson, Arizona. Mrs. Burchett is also survived by two sisters, Sue Herndon of Baton Rouge, LA, and Lynda Wyatt of Nashville, and nine nieces and nephews. She was an avid golfer and served as past president of the Women's Suburban Golf Association in Nashville. She worked as an executive secretary for many years in Nashville, as well as in other states and in Bitburg, Germany. Her last position was with the Brookmeade Congregational Church UCC where she was a member for several years. In her retirement she was actively involved in the Charlotte Park Neighborhood Association. She attended Cohn High School, Hume-Fogg High School and received her secretarial training at Draughons Junior College. Donations may be made to Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson St. Nashville, TN 37203-9658. The memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 6, 2007 at West Harpeth Funeral Home.
