Donna Hicks

Donna Jean Austin Hicks, 67, passed away Sunday December 29, 2019 at NHC Hendersonville. Born in Virginia, March 10, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Maddy and Lola (Reed). She was also preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Maddy. Donna had lived in Cross Plains and later Millersville for the past 45 years. She had owned and operated Donna's Hair Shop for many years. It was through her beauty shop and the folks that would frequent it that Donna developed her deep love of and interest in her community. Her shop was where friends and customers would go to catch up with everything going on, sometimes with the added benefit of Donna's opinion on it. Above all else, she loved her family. Donna was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She is survived by her husband, Danny Hicks; daughter, Telina Jackson; step-daughter, Hannah Arratia; brother, Rick Maddy; ½ brothers, Howie Maddy and Chris Wilkerson; grandson, Jamie Jackson; granddaughter, Courtney Jackson; step-grandchildren, Emily, Brittney, Austin and Robert Ragland and great-grandmother to 4. A gathering in celebration of Donna's life will be held (day and times to be determined) at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville.
