On Wednesday, November 10, 2021, Donald J. Tracy, the loving husband and father of 2 children passed away at the age of 69.
Don was born on October 10, 1952 in Centerville, IA to Bert and Donna Tracy; one of four renegade boys. He always loved his brothers very much, and there was a life-long bond between them. After two years serving his country in the United States Army, he married the love of his life, Lana, on March 15, 1975. They began a family, raised children and built a career spanning 14 homes in 18 years. He was an engineer, both by trade and by habit; a brilliant mechanical mind that loved to solve problems. In 1999, he opened his own business, Industrial Resource Group, and ran it for 14 years. It was there he found his greatest passion, loving people.
Don was at his best when he could invest his time, talent and treasure into the lives of others. He was known for his generosity, his wit and for doing “whatever it takes” to help someone. He retired in 2013, and built a home and a workshop on 5 acres in Hendersonville; just another tool in his arsenal to serve those he loved so deeply. That included Brian and Tasha Felts who he loved like his own children.
Don was preceded in death by his father, Bert, his mother, Donna, and his brothers Gary and Rick. He is survived by his brother, Bruce, wife, Lana, their two children Brandon and Lindsay, and their beloved grandchildren, Blake, Zak and Rebekah.
A memorial service will be held at CIL Church, 1004 Drakes Creek Rd, Hendersonville, TN 37075 on Monday, November 22, 2021 at 2:00pm. We’d love to see you there. In lieu of flowers, bring stories and dad jokes.
