Donald Jones

JONES, Donald Ray, age 80 of Hendersonville, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2008 at the Portland Medical Center.
Donald was born in Millersville and attended school at Hendersonville Elementary. He had a winning smile and a gift for friendship. He worked willingly as long as he was able. He attended First United Methodist Church and First Baptist Church, and at his death was a member of Believers' Baptist Fellowship. He has a special place in the hearts of all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hobert R. Jones; and his stepmother, Maude King Jones.
Survived by cousins, Mary Lou William Beach, Betty Vaughn, Bill Jones, Fred Debbie Jones, Leon Nancy Jones, and Geraldine Woodard.
The family will receive friends from 2-4pm and 6-8pm Tuesday and from 8-11am Wednesday at the Hendersonville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11am Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Ben Alford and the Rev. Tim Rayborn officiating. Burial will follow in the Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be David Bowers, Bill Jones, Fred Jones, Leon Jones, Bill Fuqua and Phillip King.
Honorary Pallbearers include Rev. Ben Alexander and wife Betty, Rev. Delwyn Fryer, Rev. Courtney Wilson and wife Betty, Jim Locke, Richard Jones, Donald and Earline Dixon, Patricia Mayo, Wayne and Dottie Woodard, Greg Schlusser, Jean Rayborn, J.O. and Mary Jones, Roger and Judy Swindle, Dink Newman and Claudine Brown.
