PATTERSON, DAVID CHARLES "Dave" - Died suddenly November 19th, in Nashville, TN. Born March 11, 1949, in Glasgow, MT, survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Barbara Gibbs Patterson; beloved son, Will Patterson; sister, Patrice (Stevan) Steinhart; niece, Whitney (Scott) Newlin; brother-in-law Hal (Laurie) Gibbs all of Nashville, TN. He is preceded in death by his mother, Lillyan Blair Patterson & his father, Maj. H. H. Patterson (US Army). A retired senior safety consultant/manager, he was a graduate of Castle Heights Military Academy in Lebanon, TN, earned a BS degree from Belmont University, an MS degree from MTSU & was a Board Certified Safety Professional (CSP). He was a professional member of the Middle TN Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers, served as its president & was selected as its Safety Professional of the Year. As an avid runner, he qualified & ran the Boston Marathon, ran the Strolling Jim 40 Mile Ultra-Marathon and won his age group in the TN ½ Ironman Triathlon Championships twice. A Celebration of Life will be held at West Harpeth Funeral Home on Sunday at 3pm. Visitation will precede the service from 1pm-3pm. In lieu of flowers, Dave would like for you to plant flowers or hang a bird feeder in your own yard to enjoy.
