DOWNING, David L., Sr. April 4, 2008. Age 71 of Hendersonville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann Brinkley Downing. Survived by his sons, William Downing (Chiharu), and David Downing, Jr.; step-sons, Robert Brinkley (Molly), and Jerry Brinkley; ten grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Visitation with the family will be at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, White House where the family will receive friends Sunday from 11 until 8 p.m., and where funeral services will be held Monday April 7, at 11 a.m. Interment Hillcrest Cemetery.
