Clara L. Thompson, 69, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend died April 6 at Williamson Medical Center in Franklin.
Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband, Joe J. Thompson; her brothers Bobby, Melvin and Floyd "Bink" Binkley; and sister, Billie Nicholson. Clara is survived by two daughters, Deborah John Moore of Franklin and Melissa Jim McMurtry of Grayson, Ga.; her grandchildren, J. Michael Kelli Moore of Littleton, Colo. and Kinsey and Caitlin McMurtry of Grayson, Ga.; and sister, Bettie Dudley Phillips of Nashville.
Mrs. Thompson was born Jan. 15, 1938 and grew up in Nashville. She was a longtime resident of Brentwood and enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
Graveside services will be Tuesday morning, April 10, at 11:30 at the Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens with Ridley Barron of Ridgeview Community Church officiating.
Visitation will be April 9 from 5-8 p.m. and on Tuesday morning from 10:30-11:30 at the Harpeth Hills Funeral Home.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the fine young women at Benton House Assisted Living, the nurses and staff at Williamson Medical center and Drs. Pat Murphy and Jim McGinley and their staffs.
