Chris A. Keen, II, age 46 of Hendersonville, passed away on April 17, 2011 in a boating accident. Mr. Keen was born January 14, 1965 in Scottsville, KY to Christopher Anthony Keen and Linda Simmons Keen. He was a graduate of Allen County-Scottsville High School in Scottsville, KY and Furman University in Greenville, SC, where he was a member of the basketball team and Sigma Nu fraternity. He worked as a corporate administrator for Dialysis Clinic, Inc. and served as a Director for Allen County Farmers Service. He served as a deacon at the Hendersonville Church of Christ, where he also taught in Sunday school. An avid golfer, he served on the committee for the AGAPE Kid's Classic Charity Golf Tournament. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a passionate supporter of Hendersonville High School golf and hockey teams and Jr. Predators hockey. Chris was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Kenneth Birge, Gamaliel, KY; grandpaerents, Raymond and McDonia Simmons of Scottsville, KY and Eugene and Clyde Keen of Westmoreland, TN. He is survived by his wife, Vickie Birge Keen; children, Whitney Ann and Tucker Birge Keen; father, Chris Keen and mother, Linda Simmons Keen, both of Gallatin, TN; mother-in-law, Nina Birge; brothers-in-law, Tim Stacy Birge and Donnie Michelle Birge, all of Gamaliel, KY; and his best friend, Ben Williams. A Life Celebration service will be conducted at 1 PM, Monday, May 2, 2011 at the Hendersonville Church of Christ with Pastor Brian Sheppard officiating. Entombment will follow in the Hendersonville Memory Gardens with Ben Williams, John Williams, Shelly Sutton, David Head, Terry Jackson, Stephen Roberts, Bill Wood, Joe Swearingen, Rick Holmes, Richard Barton, Larry Harrell and Marc Palmer serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 2 PM until 9 PM, Sunday, May 1, 2011 at Hendersonville Funeral Home and from 10 AM until 12:30 PM, Monday at the church. In honor of Chris's dedication and compassion to a number of charities, memorial contributions may be made to the AGAPE Kid's Classic at 4555 Trousdale Drive, Nashville, TN 37204; Relay for Life Online donation can be made at relayforlife.org/hendersonville; or to the Cuban Missions at the Hendersonville Church of Christ at PO Box 176, Hendersonville, TN 37075.
