Charles Spellings

SPELLINGS, Charles Theodore, age 83 of Nashville, passed away March 7, 2009. Mr. Spellings graduated high school in 1943 at the age of 17, served in the United States Merchant Marines during World War II, and spent a career in the Heavy Construction Equipment Industry. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Joan Spellings, and is survived by daughter, Sydney Kimbrough; son, Charles T. "Teddy" Spellings, Jr.; daughter, Emma Stacy Steven R. "Rusty" Ross; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Active Pallbearers will be Steven Russell Ross, Jr., Theodore John Foster, Jr., Andrew Lincoln Stone, George Harding Spellings, and John Franklin Spellings. Honorary pallbearers will be John L. Burns, Ed Collins, Joe Evans, Joe Herbert Waggener, and the Senior Adult Couple's Class at Brook Hollow Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, March 9th at 3:00 P.M. from Brook Hollow Baptist Church, 678 Brook Hollow Road, with Tom Gholson officiating. A private family graveside service will be held in East Side Cemetery in Martin, TN. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Brook Hollow Baptist Church.
