PATRICK, Charles R. Brunswick, Georgia, formerly of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away April 13, 2010. He was born October 18, 1930 in Memphis. His parents were the late W. O. and Audrey F. Patrick. He was predeceased by his wife of fifty years, Zelda M. Patrick. He is survived by his three sons, Mike Jeanine of St. Simon's Island, Georgia, Tim Mary Beth of Lafayette, Louisiana and Kevin of Nashville, Tennessee, and his six grandchildren, Andy, Stacey, Katie, Gina, Keegan and Lucas. Charlie, as he was known by his friends and family, attended Memphis city schools and was a graduate of the University of Mississippi and Southern School of Law at the University of Memphis. He served proudly in the United States Navy leaving the service with the rank of Lieutenant. He was active in the commercial insurance business for over thirty years in Nashville and served on the board of directors of the Insurers of Tennessee during the 1970's. After his retirement he and his wife traveled all over the United States of America and numerous provinces in Canada. He was an active member in the Honorable Order of the Blue Goose, International and were avid supporters of Special Olympics. He was also a former member of the American Legion Post 5. Charlie was an avid reader even after losing the sight in one eye. He donated time to the Nashville Public Library as reader for the blind. Family visitation will be held Friday evening, April 16, 2010 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm and a graveside service will be held 2:00pm Saturday afternoon, April 17, 2010 at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens & Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family wishes that you donate to either Special Olympics Tennessee, 1900 12th Avenue South, Nashville, TN 37203, Nashville Public Library Foundation, 615 Church Street, Nashville, TN 37219 or to a charity of your choice.
