BOWEN, Chad WilliamAge 25 of Hendersonville. April 21, 2008. Mr. Bowen was an employee of Plumgood Food. He was a graduate of Gallatin High School. He was selected in the 2000 Major League Baseball Draft by the New York Mets. He won the Doubleday Award in 2000 for player of the year for Kingsport Mets. Mr. Bowen attended Hendersonville First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Bowen; parents, Paul and Nancy Bowen; brother, Jason (Winter) Bowen; grandmother, Betty Vandenberg; parents-in-law, Barbara and Julian Gibbons; brother-in-law, Andrew Gibbons; grandmother-in-law, Mary C. Bell; aunts, Janie (Doug) Stobaugh, Sandy (Curtis) Robert; uncle, Tommy (Almedda) Bowen and numerous cousins. The family will receive friends for visitation at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Hendersonville, (today) Friday, April 25th from 5-7 p.m.. Funeral Services will be at the funeral home on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at 11 a.m., Dr. David Olshine officiating. Interment Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
