Celista Hammond

Celista Loretta Hammond, 80, of Goodlettsville passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2020. Born in Nashville, TN June 25, 1940 she was the daughter of the late Wiley Emerson Hammond and Celeste Lou Clubbs Hammond. Celista was also preceded in death by six of her siblings, Arsula Cunningham, Wiley E. Hammond Jr., James Levi Hammond, Lucy Nell Bellar, Kathern Palframan and William C Hammond. Celista graduated from North Nashville High School. She had worked as a bookkeeper / accountant for several area businesses for 57 years. She enjoyed cooking and had operated her own bakery when in her fifties. She also enjoyed sewing and was known to make clothing for family members. She is survived by her sons, Woodrow Wilson "Rusty" Atwood, III and Alan Wayne Atwood; a sister, Letty Hammond Boucher; a brother, Jerry Walter Hammond; and three grandchildren, Andrea M. Atwood, Garret D. Atwood and Sara Jean Atwood. A memorial service for Celista will be held at a later date.
