C. Edward "Eddie" Diatikar, age 62 of Cross Plains passed away July 17, 2016 at his home. Eddie was born on December 5, 1953 in Detroit, Michigan to Betty Ruth Waynick Diatikar and the late Charles H. Diatikar. Eddie was a loyal employee of Ferguson Enterprises who dedicated over 40 years of service to the company. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Steve R. Powell. Eddie was a thinker, a great man of faith, an overcomer, strong and dedicated. He was one of the most generous people you could know; he loved his family dearly. He fought the good fight, and is now in the arms of his Savior.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Wanda Diatikar; children, Kim Crockett, Jenny (Aaron) Townsend, Erik (Amy) Diatikar and Kyle (Jo Carol) Diatikar; grandchildren, Taylor, Isaac and Jack Townsend, Bella, Gabby and Gianni Zizzi, and Kailey & Hayden Diatikar; mother, Betty Diatikar; sister, Judy (Kerry) Parker; brother, Donny (Patsy) Powell and father and mother-in-law, Leland and Betty Hollows.
A Life Celebration Service honoring Eddie will be held on Wednesday, July 20th at 2:00 P.M. from the Chapel of Cole & Garrett Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Erik Diatikar, Kyle Diatikar, Aaron Townsend, Taylor Townsend, Isaac Townsend, Jack Townsend, Hayden Diatikar and Gianni Zizzi serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Alton Lassiter, Walter Young, Randy Warf, Pat Reeves, Wells Kramer, Jeff Hargis, Patrick Hemmerly, Kenny Boyd, Jamie Morgan, Joe Duncan, Dennis Spann, Derek Goodwin and Jim Cline. Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, July 19th from 4-8 P.M. and on Wednesday from 12:00 Noon until service time.
