BRADLEY, Bobby Gene - Age 74 of Goodlettsville, Tennessee. He was born on November 7, 1932 and passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2007 after a short battle with cancer. Preceded in death by his parents Vernon and Maie Bradley; brothers, Owen, Leon and Charles Bradley; sister, Ruby Strange; granddaughter, Clara Chastain. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Jones Bradley; sons, Bobby Jr. and Kyle Bradley; daughter, Kim Chastain; grandchildren, Sean, April and Jennifer; great-grandson, Henry. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He excelled as a baseball player, attending Tennessee Tech on scholarship, leaving to serve honorably in the Korean War. Upon his return he attended Belmont College on scholarship and later became Belmont's baseball coach. After graduation as a psychology major he worked at Ford Glass Plant for 37 years. Upon his retirement, he trained roller pigeons and set a world record. A song entitled "The Ballad of Bobby Bradley" was written to honor this event. Regardless of these outstanding honors, his love and devotion to his wife, children and grandchildren were the highlights of his life. He felt that was his greatest achievement. He now goes over the rainbow to fly his pigeons in a glorious place. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, August 11, 2007 at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home in Goodlettsville. Rev. Joe Vickers, Mark North and Minister Don Readhimer will officiate. Pallbearers are Andy Garrett, Brian Jones, Trent Jones, Derek Deason, Daniel Deason, Barry Brooks, Mark Strange, Mike (Smiley) Story. Interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Goodlettsville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 - 8 p.m. today (Friday).
