Bobby J. Bowers, age 81 of Portland, TN passed away October 30, 2015. Mr. Bowers was born at home in Goodlettsville, TN on January 22, 1934 to the late James William and Nettie Belle Bowers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Joel Mark Bowers; brothers, James William and Chester Arthur "Nick" Bowers; and sisters, Thelma Louise Bowers and Bessie Lee Leeke. He is survived by his loving wife, Tricia Bowers; children, Sheila D. Rainey, Bobby S. Bowers, Mitchell W. Bowers (Daphne) and Tony Phillips (Celeste); 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and sister, Mildred Lucille Satterfield (Bill). A Life Celebration will be conducted on Monday, November 2nd at 2:00 P.M. from the Chapel of Cole & Garrett in Goodlettsville with Bro. Billy Bowers officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Luton's Chapel Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Michael Rainey, Jonathan Bowers, Mitchell Bowers, Nicholas Bowers, Luke Phillips and David Bowers. Visitation with the family will be on Sunday from 4-8 P.M. and on Monday from 10 A.M. until service time.
