Billy Joe Cole, a cherished husband, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, in Westmoreland, Tennessee, at the age of 64. Born March 8, 1960, in Springfield, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Morris Dean Cole and Mary Frances Veteto Cole.
Billy’s professional journey was marked by his unwavering dedication and strong work ethic. He spent many years at Holley Performance Products, where his commitment was evident as he never missed a day of work. His colleagues and associates will remember him not only for his reliability but also for his quick wit and the infectious sense of humor that brightened the workplace.
Billy graduated from White House High School as a member of the graduating class of 1979.
Outside of work, Billy was a passionate NASCAR enthusiast, holding a particular admiration for the late, great Dale Earnhardt, Sr. He found joy in hopping into his car and going on drives, often relishing the freedom of the open road. His zest for life and respect for others were hallmarks of his character; he was a man who never met a stranger and always sought to uplift those around him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Cathy Darlene Cole and brother-in-law Michael Wooten.
Billy is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Tammy Cole; his brother, Marty (Traci) Cole; and his nephews, Ryan (Natalie) Cole and Erik (Brooke) Cole. He is also survived by his niece, Chasity Nicole Haynie, as well as his brother-in-law, Jeffery Wooten, and mother-in-law, Barbara Wooten. Each of them will hold dear their cherished memories of Billy and the love he shared generously with his family.
The legacy of Billy Joe Cole, an overall good man, will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. His kind heart, humor, and dedication to his loved ones will never be forgotten. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Cole & Garrett Funeral Home - Goodlettsville.
