Betty Wolfe

Betty McKinley Wolfe was born August 1, 1932 to Vera and David McKinley. She was born and raised in Glidden, Iowa. Graduated from Glidden High School in 1951. She was a graduated of Saint Anthony's School of Nursing at Carroll, Iowa and took further studies at Marquette University in Milwaukee Wisconsin.
She had a full scholarship from the American Cancer Society. Betty worked as an RN in several fields for 36 years before retiring. She was married to Oscar H. Wolfe August 17, 1955 at Saint Peter and Paul in Carroll, Iowa. Lived in Milwaukee Wisconsin for the first 17 years. They moved to Nashville Tennessee in 1976 where Oscar accepted a position on the teaching staff on Vanderbilt University Hospital.
The couple had two children, Warren and Amy. Warren received his Masters degree in Electrical Engineering. Amy has an Associates degree in Radiology from Vanderbilt University.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister who died at 10 years old. A sister, Doris Gray of DesMoines Iowa, two children and 5 grandchildren survive her. Betty died, December 24, 2007 at age 75. Visitation will be Thursday 5-8 p.m. at West Harpeth Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at the Rotunda of the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, Friday, December 28, 2007 at 11 a.m.
