Mrs. Betty Lorraine Wilson, age 85 of Hendersonville, completed her journey on this earth, June 28, 2010. It began in St. John's, Newfoundland on April 20, 1925. She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Graham Roberts; mother, Olive Violet Roberts; brother, Lloyd Roberts; granddaughter, Brandi Wilson and grandson, Tucker Steele. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, the Rev. E. Courtney Wilson; children, Jerry Jane Wilson, Sylvia Mark Smith; Philip C. Cindy Wilson and Laurie Fraser; grandchildren, Amy Brian Corson, Jennifer Smith, Graham Sarah Mayfield, Jared and Jesse Gray, Susan Rich Kryhowski, Tana Steele, Kevin Smith, Braxton Wilson and Tracie Steele; great-grandchildren, Logan, Olivia, Genevieve and Samuel Corson, Enoch, Jonas and Simon Smith, and Noah Mayfield; sister, Joyce Pitman and many nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Dr. William Greer and the staff of the Vanderbilt Cancer Clinic, Dr. James Carmack and staff, Dr. Conrad Shackleford, Dr. Marshall Johnson and to the group Emerson Drive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM, Thursday, July 1, 2010 from the Hendersonville First Baptist Church with Dr. Bruce Chesser officiating and interment to follow in Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Graham Mayfield, Jared Gray, Brian Corson, Braxton Wilson, Jesse Gray and Enoch Smith. The current and former Pink Ladies of Hendersonville Medical Center, the Fellowship Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church, Dr. James Carmack, Dr. William Greer and Dr. Conrad Shackleford will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be from 2 – 4 PM and 6 - 9 PM, Wednesday, June 30, 2o10 at Hendersonville Funeral Home and from 12 PM until the time of service, Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made the Hendersonville First Baptist Church Building Fund. Arrangements entrusted to Hendersonville Funeral Home, 615 824-3855.
