Betty Ann Spalding, 85, passed away at her home Sunday, November 11, 2018. Born May 26, 1933 in Nashville, she was the daughter of the late George I. and Mildred Hughey. In addition to her parents, Betty was also preceded in death by her siblings; Margaret, Sarah and Clyde. She married the love of her life, Lloyd W. Spalding in 1949 and together they created a loving home and raised their family. Family was at the center of her life and she especially loved the babies that were born along her life's journey. She also enjoyed being babied herself and the occasional times that her family catered to her. She enjoyed going to church and also cooking. She and her husband enjoyed many "date nights" at Cracker Barrel as well. She remained a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister and friend throughout her life. Betty is survived by her husband, Lloyd; her children, Gary (Ellen) Spalding, Gayle (Ricky) McWhirter, and Ronnie (Yvette) Spalding; seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be held Tuesday November 13, 2018 from 5 to 8 PM and Wednesday, November 14 from 10 Am to 12 noon at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville. A Life Celebration Service will be held Wednesday at noon followed by interment at Greenbrier City Cemetery.
