Belenda Sue Ray, age 62 of Smyrna passed away September 2, 2016. Mrs. Ray was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania on July 19, 1954 to the late Kenneth and Ruby Burd. Belenda will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid bowler for many years and also served on the board of the NWBA; Belenda also loved crafts especially embroidery. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bob Burd. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Tommy Ray; daughters, Pennie Rowland (Kevin) and Terri Troup (John); grandchildren, Ryan and Sierra Troup, James Lee, Isaiah, D.T. and Angel Rowland; and her brother, James Burd. A Life Celebration Service honoring Belenda will be held on Monday, September 5th at 2:00 P.M. from the Chapel of Cole & Garrett in Goodlettsville with Bro. Johnny Carver officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be on Sunday from 3-8 P.M. and Monday from 12 P.M. until service time.
