Barbara Brackin

Barbara Ann Brackin, age 74 of Gallatin, went to her heavenly home on Monday, March 15, 2010. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, John H "Buddy" Brackin; son, Dale A. Brackin and wife, Pam of Indianapolis; daughter, Janet L. Vahle and husband, Bruce of Indianapolis; grandsons, Dale A. Brackin Jr., James D. Brackin, John P. Vahle and Malachi A. Vahle; great-grandsons, Camaron M. Vahle and Zachary M. Vahle; sisters, Earline Hughes and Rebecca Cummings, both of Gallatin; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was a faithful member of the Bush's Chapel Church of Christ in South Tunnel and was employed at Western Electric in Indianapolis for 32 years. Funeral service will be held at 11 A.M., Thursday, March 18, 2010 at the Gallatin Funeral Home at Crestview with Bro. Jonathan England of Bush's Chapel and P.J. Hardy of Lexington, Tennessee officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11 A.M., Saturday, March 20, 2010 at the Washington Park East Cemetery. Visitation with the Brackin family will be from 3:00 – 9:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 17, at Gallatin Funeral Home and from 3:00 – 8:00 P.M., Friday, March 19, at Hendryx Mortuaries-Cumberland Chapel, 11636 E. Washington St. in Indianapolis, IN. Dale A. Brackin, Bruce A. Vahle, John P. Vahle, Dale A. Brackin, Jr., Malachi Vahle and John Allen Williams will serve as pallbearers. James D. Brackin will be an honorary pallbearer. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
