Avis Harris

HARRIS, Avis Kathleen Age 92, a long-time resident of the Goodlettsville area, died Wednesday the 11th of May at Vanco Manor. Born on August 26, 1918 in Mitchellville, TN. Kathleen was a long time member of Goodlettsville First Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife of W.C. Harris. Kathleen loved her Savior, Jesus Christ and her family. She loved to laugh, loved to dance, loved to watch her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren grow, and the occasional boxing match. Kathleen possessed a heart full of love, kindness and generosity. She is survived by her son, Glen B. (Ashley) Harris; daughters, Jean Harris (Bob) Whittaker and Betty Harris (Gary) Webster; six grandsons; granddaughter; ten great grandchildren who brought great joy to her later years. Visitation will be at Goodlettsville First Baptist Church on Friday, May 13, 2011 from 2-3 p.m. with the service to follow at 3 p.m. at the Church with Rev. Lyle Larson and Rev. Bill Vance officiating. Grandchildren will serve as Pallbearers. Interment will be Graveside at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 14, 2011 in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
