Ann Elizabeth (Jakes) Hunter, 88, of Joelton passed away Thursday, January 4th, 2018. Born September 3, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Glen Jackson and Jessie P. (Fuller) Jakes. Ann is survived by her husband of 68 years, Emmis Jenks Hunter; four sons, Emmis Wayne Hunter (Karen), John Glenn Hunter, Robert Harville Hunter, and Charles Ray Hunter (Sarah); eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Ann grew up in Sylvan Park graduating from Cohn High School in 1947. She was the last of seven siblings and was dearly loved by all her nieces and nephews. Ann worked for many years at the Presbyterian board of World Missions and then at Nashville Memorial Hospital until retirement. Ann's life mostly centered around her family. She loved God, her husband, and all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren deeply. She was one of those people who made the world a better place just by being in it. Visitation for Ann will be Sunday from 2 - 8 PM and Monday from 1-2 PM. A Life Celebration Service will be held Monday at 2 PM at the funeral home followed by interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Acting as pallbearers will be Jake Hunter, Trey Downs, Dean Birdwell, John Combs, Bill Hoffman, Doug Winters and Sonny Ponder.
