Alpha Mays

MAYS, Alpha Todd January 12, 1915 - August 5, 2011. Born in Middleburg, TN, the eleventh of twelve children born to Martha Ann and Joseph Henry Todd. Preceded in death by all her siblings and husband of 70 years, Houston B. Mays. Survived by daughter, Ann (George) Reynolds; sons, Bob (Margo), Houston L. (Glenda), James L. (Norma); seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. An active member of First Baptist Church, Goodlettsville for approximately 60 years, she loved her church family and enjoyed knitting, music, flowers and vegetable gardening, often sharing the fruits of her labor with friends and neighbors. Pallbearers include Jacob Meadows, John Hancock; Randy Norris, Matthew and Alex Deshler, David Elkins, and Howard Todd. Honorary Pallbearers are members of Keenagers Sunday School Class. Special thanks to caregivers, Sherry Morales, Kendra Hinton, Kristie Stone, Kimber Turner and Hospice staff at St. Thomas. Visitation 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville. Funeral Service will follow at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
