Albert Smith

Albert E. Smith went home to his Lord on June 30, 2021 at 9:05 p.m. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judy N. Smith; Sons Thomas E., Donnie W. and Richard Boles (Richie). Grandsons Thomas (deceased), Nicholas M., D. Chance Boles, Trey H. Boles and Great Grandchildren Kellin N. W. Boles and Laska Uga Boles. He also has 2 great granddaughters in Minnesota that he had not been privileged to meet Albert retired from Peterbilt Motors in 2002 upon the plants closing after 20 + years of service. He took great pride in his work and enjoyed seeing his works on the road. He delighted in taking his oldest step grandson Chance for rides in the trucks when he was road testing them. He was a fixer, tinkerer, inventor and had a large area of the garage converted into his “workshop”. When Chance was coming to visit he would scurry about to clean up the workbench so he would have a safe place to “work”. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Hendersonville where he enjoyed learning more about his Lord, questioning his pastor & staff when he did not understand something. He also gave his pastor jokes for the Wednesday evening services as they had an Alabama fan connection & Albert enjoyed it immensely when one of his submitted jokes was used. He enjoyed working in Vacation Bible School and going to the Nashville Rescue Mission with his fellow church members to minister to those less fortunate. He was a 2+ gallon blood donor, something he was very glad to do as he had a rare blood type. Albert will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. A celebration of Alberts life will be held Monday, July 19th at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Hendersonville Chapel with visitation from 1 until 2 p.m.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Cole & Garrett Funeral Home of Goodlettsville.
