WOODARD, Eloise S.- age 90 of Hendersonville passed away August 23, 2013. In 1953 Eloise and Ernest, "Woody" her husband, founded Woody's Restaurant in Madison, TN. Eloise was a people person who had a smile that would light up any room. She never met a stranger. She had a good rapport with all her customers who quickly became her close friends. She was a very generous person who was always willing to listen and could always cheer you up no matter the situation. Words cannot describe how she impacted many lives especially those of her family. She will forever be remembered as a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Ernest T. Woodard; son, Duane Woodard still born; parents, Claude and Ida Smith; brothers, Charles, Paul and Duvall Smith. She is survived by her children, Ernest T. "Butch" Sandra Woodard, Jr. , Paul Dwight Woodard and Brenda Buddy Carr; grandchildren, Cheryl Jimmy Douglas, Eric Woodard, Landan Woodard, Bryant Vanessa Woodard, Chuck Angela Woodard and Duane Amy Woodard; 10 great-grandchildren; three great great- grandchildren and brother, Elijah Smith. A Life Celebration Service will be held on Tuesday August 27, 2013 at 11 a.m.at Hendersonville Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Thaxton officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery in Nashville, TN. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
